Waiākea is a Hawaiian beverage company focusing on healthy, sustainable, and ethical living. I started as a Marketing Intern and six months later was promoted to Marketing Coordinator. My time here was where I found my footing in marketing, getting hands-on experience across social media, email marketing, influencer outreach, and content creation.
At Waiākea, I helped build the brand's digital presence, from growing their social following, managing influencer relationships, executing email campaigns, and designing promotional assets. Daily, I assisted the VP of Marketing and Creative Director.
Social Media
I owned Waiākea's organic social presence by formulating a monthly content calendar, scheduling and publishing all social media content, copywriting, and producing trendy and audience-driven content for a following of 100K. Through a combination of organic and paid social, community engagement, and influencer outreach, I helped grow the brand's Instagram from 70K to 100K, resulting in a 43% increase in brand following.
Email Marketing
I led email marketing efforts by collaborating with the marketing team to create templates and redesign newsletters using Klaviyo and Adobe Creative Suite. Every campaign was designed with a consistent brand image in mind, with the goal of driving customer retention and increasing click-through rates.
Influencer Marketing
I coordinated with the marketing team to manage the influencer program, identifying content creators for product gifting and paid collaborations using Grin. Building and maintaining relationships with ambassadors, influencers, and partners was a big part of making sure campaigns launched smoothly and authentically.
Analytics & Reporting
I tracked, analyzed, and reported on weekly KPIs and quarterly goals using Instagram Insights, Sprout Social, and Grin. Staying on top of the numbers helped me identify opportunities for new content strategies and keep the team informed on performance.
Website
I conducted monthly website audits, making copy and photo edits to keep the site up to date and optimize the overall customer experience.
Other Tasks
Beyond my core responsibilities, I also supported the team in several ways that kept things moving efficiently. I analyzed and pulled key metrics and insights for weekly and monthly reports, assisted with website updates, including new page content and copywriting, made recommendations for brand-relevant content opportunities and the latest social media trends, and conducted research for new content requests as they came in.
